Easter Weekend

This year Easter weekend started off with the Easter Bunny coming early. He surprised us and came Saturday morning when no one was expecting it! I, for one, loved it because it was nice not having to do that and worry about getting to church all at the same time.

Ready....go!

The little girls got a slight head start.

The big girls got a little more serious.

Okay, a LOT serious!

Then we went to our church's Easter egg hunt where our cousins joined us.

Sunday was really nice and we were able to focus more on the Savior and the true meaning of Easter. We went to church, came home and had brunch with Mike's family, and then that evening went to my mom's for dinner. The cousins met us there as well. A storm rolled in right around the time we went to my mom's so our normal egg hunt had to be moved indoors. (Note: my mom's house is COVERED in breakable stuff so we were a bit scared to try it.)

We broke the girls up into teams, and one team hid eggs for the other and then vice-versa. Here is Team 1:

And Team 2:

Photo outside after the rain. Oh, and my big girls changed dresses - they wore their all-white baptism dresses (per my begging) but we all agreed they didn't need to wear them to dinner and get them ruined.

Then to end the night we had a little mishap. Every time we leave my mom's, Ashley runs into my mom's bedroom and hides in her sheers. Every time we tell her to come out and not to play in my mom's curtains anyway. Well, Easter was no different. That's when I saw it. The rip. I mean - picture the sheers - in one giant shred, beginning with an enormous hole (that a person could step through) and then ripping  and running all the way to the top. Custom sheers. So unfortunately it didn't end well. My mom still has that photo. Will add to this post when I get it. But if the sheer was the only casualty after having an indoor egg hunt in the china closet (aka my mom's house), I guess we can still count our blessings.
