Summer is into full-swing and so far busier than I thought we would be (which is not exactly a bad thing, so long as I still get to sleep in in the mornings). We have Mackenzie taking summer dance, just got back from a short mini-vacation, and still going strong with swim team!
Today will be our third swim meet which marks halfway through the meet season. It is always so much fun to watch the girls grow and progress throughout the summer. Last week their coach emailed me at midnight after the meet to tell me what a good meet our family had and give me all their times before they were posted. For us that was a really big deal. We knew they all did well but every single one of my girls had their best times ever in every event they swam.
OK so for Ashley and Reagan that may not be saying much, but given that Reagan only swam half a lap in the first meet that was great news! And Ashley in the first meet went the whole way without touching anything. We have been super proud of them!
And every good try gets rewarded with a snow cone!
Oh yeah, and a ribbon too!
Mackenzie has finally tapped into a source of strength she didn't know she had and is looking like a bit of a different swimmer all of a sudden. And she seems to be one of the few who can do a decent breaststroke!
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn is emerging as quite the butterflier - a very difficult stroke for young swimmers. She must have muscles that I never had!
So far having fun and beating the heat!
