Well, this was our FOURTH swim team season, but the first for Ashley and Reagan. They did a great job! The first few meets they barely got across, or used the rope, or touched the bottom, but it wasn't long before they were swimming unassisted. Both dropped over 30 seconds off their time and I think they enjoyed being part of the team instead of just watching from the sidelines all the time. And for their hard work, they earned their first trophies, along with many swim ribbons!
They got to be "swimmers" this year at the banquet and sit at the 6 & under table. Here is what 6 & unders do to entertain themselves at a long banquet.
Then onto the trophies! Ashley had a little plastic gator that she used to growl at everybody while her age group's names were being read. It was, uh, lovely.
And a picture with Coach Greg who was their coach this year, who is also not afraid to wear pink!
And let's not forget their big sisters who also had a great swim season! Kaitlyn has emerged as a really good butterflier (moved to 1st heat even) and Mackenzie has found strength as a breaststroker (both very difficult strokes)! All did well and we will be excited to come back next year for another summer! Great job to my four gators!
