Cowgirl Up!

Every year as February comes to an end, rodeo time begins in Houston! It's kind of the perfect transition into spring and breathes life into the city. Of course all the schools celebrate and have their different variations of Go Texan Day (which is technically the day the trail ride rides into Houston). It's a lot of fun for the kids for sure! And our preschool really does it up big!

Here are Ashley and Reagan ready to giddy up!

This is the photo that reminds me of Laverne and Shirley. They had a cute one they posed for but they were mostly little wiggle worms. But how did they wiggle in unison?

Ashley was really hamming it up with all kinds of poses...

First they got outdoor playtime at various stations.

Reagan decided to nurture this little plastic pony. She was carrying him around and told me that he was "shy." I don't know why I thought that was so cute.

And then every time she saw me trying to snap a photo she would run at me and throw her arms around me. Here she is in action.

Ahh, finally. She's still.

Then the real fun began. First a petting zoo. They had some cute baby animals, starting with this precious little pig.

All the girls had fun chasing this rabbit around the pen. Until we had to tell them to stop. They weren't chasing to be mean, the bunny was just trying to hop away and they were following. It was so cute how they were all giggling and laughing.

Not sure what was going on but Reagan jumped up in the air in the middle of her picture. It reminds me of those old Toyota commercials..."Oh what a feeling...."

Now, look at this baby goat. So adorable. They (there were 2) were only 3 days old. You can't see it here but they actually still have their umbilical cords attached!

And the best part of all....pony rides!

Whoa there! Love those looks of excitement.

They had a great time. It was the first rodeo day that I remember though where it was actually quite cold that day. The cowgirl outfits weren't exactly weather-appropriate and we were all chilly but thank goodness kids don't usually notice.
