Day 3 we went to Disney Hollywood Studios. It was the dreaded "rain day" of the trip.
Here are the kids showing off their new ponchos. They had cute little Mickey Mouses on the back. The joy of ponchos ended rather fast. Lots of whining and complaining from the kids about the ponchos. Suck it up, kids! At least Ashley enjoyed the rain and the puddles.
I have always wanted to go on the Hollywood Tower. I used to love this ride at Astroworld growing up called the Sky Screamer. One straight drop and it was awesome! I figured this would be about the same. Then we dropped! And then we bounced back up. And down. And up. And down we go. Bouncing and uncertainty. Bleck! Needless to say, now I can say I've been there, done that. No need to go again.
What I wish I HAD gone on was the Aerosmith Rockin-Roller Coaster that Mike and Aunt Chrissie went on. But I was feeling a bit queasy from the tower so I passed. We moms can't afford to be queasy, especially when we're hauling 4 kids across 5 theme parks in 5 days!
We went to the Disney Jr show. The kids were all very happy, until...the host of the show tripped going backstage during a transition! All of a sudden you heard "Dang!" and then everything stopped. We waited for several minutes, wondering if she was okay but fully expecting the show to resume any minute. Then the announcement came, "That will be all for our show today." Poor girl must have really hurt herself! The kids were a bit disappointed but they understood. And it was back into the rain we went.
Went into this animation studio and met some more characters and played around for a while. The big girls later went back and had fun learning how to draw "Stitch" from Lilo and Stitch.
Finally we went to the Beauty and the Beast Show! One of the main reasons we went to Hollywood Studios. All of us loved it! I love musicals and shows so this was definitely a favorite from the trip.
My kids all love Toy Story so that was fun meeting Woody and Buzz.
Another highlight that all the adults loved was the new Woody Midway 3D shooting ride. This is not the same as the Buzz Lightyear ride in Magic Kingdom. This one is WAY better. Lots of fun and very cool! We all loved it and it was one of the favorite rides overall for everybody.
Back to Disney Junior, take 2. Second time complete, with a new host. It "snowed" on everyone!
We stayed late to see the Fantasmic light show. It was pretty cool. They were able to use spraying water as a screen where they projected all kinds of images, clips, etc. It was a little too focused on the villains but overall really neat.
Ashley just loved every minute of it, especially the fireworks at the end!
Our towel dog and friends greeted us that night back in our room.
We had such good luck going early to Magic Kingdom that in spite of how tired we were, on Day 4 we went early again! Here are a few of the highlights of the day:
We did the Jasmine magic carpet ride. Love Mackenzie's veil in this picture flying straight back.
The Jungle River Cruise is always fun. It was quite a bit different from the one at Disneyland.
We finished up Magic Kingdom fast and went back to do some favorites. On the way back to Fantasyland we caught sight of the new Rapunzel tower.
The big girls in the meantime discovered their all-time favorite ride of the trip - Thunder Mountain Railroad. They rode it 5 times! (Thank you Fast Pass!)
Before we knew it it was time for the anticipated princess lunch at the castle! We got the little girls changed and headed over. We were all really excited too about having a GOOD meal that wasn't chicken nuggets, burgers or pizza!

The one true disappointment at the princess meal was that Belle was not there. Reagan had worn her Belle dress and everything but there was no Belle. I guess you had to go to her story time in Fantasyland to meet her but we didn't know that and after lunch (it was a REALLY late lunch) we were headed out of the Magic Kingdom so that was it for Belle. At least we saw her in the play! We told Reagan she was clearly very busy while we were there but I am still surprised she wasn't showcased as one of the princesses at the castle.

Even though it was cold Mike and the girls went for an evening swim at the resort pool. The pool was actually heated pretty nicely so all girls had fun. They REALLY wanted to swim on the trip sometime.
I was just glad to not be at another park late at night again!
