The Castle Park and Twin Challenge #14 - Taking Twins to the Park

We have a favorite park. It's not in our neighborhood, but it's not TOO far. We call it the "castle" park.

Why do we (along with many others) love this park?

Probably the best reason is for the shade - something desperately needed in Texas! It has huge old pecan trees all around that make it shady most of the time.

Secondly it is very far off the street. When you have little ones (multiple toddlers) if the park isn't enclosed or away from the street it's a no go if you don't have another adult helping.

And along the same lines, the third reason is that the equipment is rather safe. Not lots of ledges and drop offs!

And lastly, there is this little walkway over to the pond where at least before the drought of last summer you could find lots of ducks wanting to be fed. Hope the pond rises back. So far a year later and it hasn't recovered.

(This is an old photo of Mackenzie by the way.)

And we mustn't forget - while this isn't one of my personal highlights of the park (sorry - I'd rather the kids not be mauled by animals), the kids all love these very friendly doggies who get lots of attention from all the park kids every day!

Glad we are back to "park" weather around here. It may be hot in the summer but spring and fall are wonderful!

  2. Hi My name is Jenna
Your kids are beautiful princesses, cute blessings, special earthly angels, and precious gifts and miracles. Castle Park looks like so much fun! I love feeding the ducks.
I was born with a rare life threatening disease, developmental delays, and 14 other medical conditions.

Here is a new poem I wrote, it’s called it takes courage:
    It Takes courage to love
    Like a dove
    It takes courage to fight,
It takes courage to do what’s right
It takes courage to stay strong,
    When things go wrong
It takes courage to write a song
    It takes courage to live
    It takes courage to give
It takes courage to fight this beast
It takes courage to be brave
It takes courage to smile and wave
It takes courage to keep positive
    Keep on fighting!
    It takes courage to win!
