A Scorching Blowout Football Game and a Very Sick Child

We went yet again to another football weekend at TCU (didn't make it to the Aggies this year - sniff, sniff). So Ashley was a bit sick with headaches before we left but a little Tylenol and she was good so we went.

We did the usual face painting and other Frog Alley stuff.

Then it turned out to be 4000 degrees at the game in late October. Felt like an August or early September game, which I don't do. I literally could feel my skin burning and no breeze once we got into the stadium.

So we spent almost the entire first half hanging out by the concessions seeking refuge from the sun.

Then I randomly ran into my Red Raider cousin who lives in Houston now! So that was certainly unexpected!

And my brother was in the middle of his own personal vacation around Texas so he met us at the game. We KILLED Tech. Check out the scoreboard: 82-27! The only time I've ever been around Tech fans when they were nice (except my cousin of course!). Guess they are nice when they are getting their butts handed to them, as my husband would say.

All was well til the next morning when Ashley woke up throwing up in the hotel. Not good for needing to drive back to Houston! Ended up at urgent care. After a long delay and getting her all the meds she needed, we were able to head home. Just had to drive with caution. Turned out she had strep and it was making her throw up! A couple days later she was good to go. Here's Miss Ash with her popsicle that she didn't like. It was too healthy.
