After years of trying to coordinate our four Christmases with everyone else in the family we finally have a consistent system down (well, almost).
We now do Christmas Eve lunch with Mike's family. One thing that's great is we order food somewhere. Works great because I am usually still in heavy wrapping mode at that hour. We had a yummy BBQ lunch and then opened gifts with Mike's parents and sister.
After a bit of a break, we went to my brother's house for Christmas Eve with my dad's family. Normally it's at my dad's house but this year that didn't work out. It was short and quick and just dessert. The girls had fun with their traditional Christmas poppers.

Even though it was short, it was nice to get back home early and get things ready for Santa!
