We kicked off Thanksgiving with the little girls ending their week at school with a Thanksgiving program. Both were pilgrims, but the strings holding on their bonnets were itchy and Ashley's kept falling off. They did 3 cute little songs with the whole first grade.
Thanksgiving Day we got our grub on at my mom's as always. I'm so thankful for this wonderful food every year. And all I have to do is show up and bring a side dish or two. In addition to all her cooking, Mom put up her beloved Barbie tree early for us all to enjoy. She was so proud of her new "pink" tree.
My sister-in-law's parents come every year for thanksgiving too and this year Mike's dad even came so they could head out to go to the TCU/t.u. game in Austin that night.
The two artists of the family, Trinity and Kaitlyn, drew portraits of each other while we were waiting to eat.
Ashley had issues and had to go to the bedroom to watch TV after the feast.
We did a craft (so as to keep everyone occupied and from getting too wild) but there was some drama.
That night we went to see my Dad and step-mom and it must have been a dream come true for him because 4 of his granddaughters decided to play football with him!
Kaitlyn chose to rake the leaves so she could throw them on herself.
Thanksgiving continues to be a wonderful, yummy, relaxing holiday. How did we not know as kids how great it was?
